Fulton neighborhood is in the southwest corner of Minneapolis and borders the suburb of Edina. Lake Harriet sits in Fulton’s northeast corner and Minnehaha Creek runs through it. The neighborhood takes its name from Robert Fulton, the engineer and artist who invented the steamboat in the 19th century. 50th Street West, a busy thoroughfare with a strong commercial district runs through the Fulton neighborhood. It is a mostly residential neighborhood with houses built mostly in the 1920s and 1930s. Pershing Park, located on the corner of 48th Street and Chowen Avenue has a recreational center and also many recreational facilities including a soccer field and tennis courts
